Pursuant to Article 11 of the Constitution and By-Laws of SEIU Local 2007 (Nomination Election, and Installation of Officers) The General Election for all Officers and Chapter Delegates of the Executive Board shall take place on February 17, 2021.




Pursuant to Article 11, Section 1 of the Constitution and By-laws of SEIU Local 2007, no person shall be eligible for nomination as an officer, member of the Executive Board, delegate or any other office in this Local Union who has not been a member in continuous good standing for at least two (2) years immediately preceding the nomination and has during all of that time paid the full dues required for regular members of the Local Union within each month when due. The two (2) years continuous good standing period for this election is from December 12th,2018 through December 12th, 2020.

Additionally, no member who has been convicted of a felony as defined in Section 504 of the Labor- Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, shall be eligible to be nominated for, run for, or hold office in this Union during the thirteen (13) years disqualification period, as specified in the statute. The following officers will be elected.

President         Vice President        Secretary           Treasurer


Stanford University – Three (3) Delegates to Executive Board

Santa Clara University – One (1) Delegate to the Executive Board

The terms of all of the above – listed offices are three (3) Years and shall run from March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2024. Pursuant to Article 18 of the Constitution and By-Laws of SEIU Local 2007 (Convention Representation), by virtue of their offices, all of the above – listed officers automatically serve as delegates to the SEIU International Convention.



In addition to the other qualifications discussed above, a nominee for the At-Large office must sign and submit an official nomination petition provided by the Union Election Committee Chair, and  a minimum of fifty (50) signatures from  members in good standing submitted via an official “Google Petition Form”. 

ATTN: Members making nominations must be current in their dues   payments as of November 30, 2020.  

Nominees for the position of Delegate must have the official  “Google Petition Form” submitted by at least twenty-five (25) members or twenty-five percent (25%) of the members in good standing, whichever is smaller. 

The Election Committee Chair will make petitions available by emailing a request, beginning on Thursday December 10th, 2020. 

Official nomination petitions and signatures for all “Google Petition Form”s will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8th, 2021.

The Elections Committee will review union records to verify the eligibility of all nominees. Those candidates who have been deemed ineligible will be provided with a reason why no later than Tuesday, January 12th, 2021. Placement on the ballot will be determined at the candidate meeting. If only one candidate is nominated for a particular office, s/he will be elected without further procedures.


All eligible candidates for office and Delegate positions must attend a Zoom meeting on January13th, 2021

to review and agree to the rules and procedures for campaigning set forth by the Elections Committee. This includes campaign restrictions, scheduling appointments to inspect the Local 2007 membership lists, distribution of campaign literature, slate designations, protests, ballot preparation, and, if any, observers at the ballot counting.  The meeting information will be provided when the nominees is notified of their eligibility status.


Any member, who wishes to protest any aspect of the election, including nomination, should email a protest to Election Committee Chairperson, Dale Miller at “”.


If no members file or qualify for the nomination of the Officer Positions at Large or Delegate positions the current persons that fill those positions will remain. If only one candidate is nominated for a given office, that candidate will be declared elected without further procedures (Article 11.5.C of SEIU Local 2007 – HEW Constitution and Bylaws).
